You can read more about it in our blog posts Broken Arrow Oklahoma Hotel Tower Design and Broken Arrow Oklahoma Hotel Project. Now we’re highlighting another unique part of this hotel.

It is so exciting when a complex project like the Blind Buffalo Pour House at the Stoney Creek Hotel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma starts to wrap up and you can finally see the entire concept come together. This project turned out amazing and we are excited to show it off! Fun fact: this unique bar is open to not only hotel guests, but also the general public. Read on, and then check it out if you are in the area.

Building the Blind Buffalo Pour House

The idea behind the Blind Buffalo Pour House was for it to resemble a 1920’s speakeasy bar. These bars are typically full of dark wainscoting and judges paneling with dark accented furniture. The Blind Buffalo is no different, but we put a JT Unique spin on it to make it extra special.

The walls and ceiling are covered in beautiful, ornate woodworking we prefabricated in the JT Unique shop. The panels were made of reclaimed lumber our shopworkers milled and molded into the custom panels. A distressed, black crackle was added to most of the panels to add a unique element. The crackle looks similar to a sateened look with a black finish, which gives it a metal appearance. The paneling was transported from the JT Unique shop to the Stoney Creek – Broken Arrow location and installed by our expert craftsmen.

In addition to the wainscoting and judges paneling, columns were added to the bar front with raised paneling. The bar top is a custom JT Unique reclaimed untreated lumber counter with a thick counter top resin poured on top.

Inspiring the Speakeasy Atmosphere

We know in order to create the atmosphere our clients want, the carpentry details helps set the style for the décor. Achieving the right mood and character in a space all comes down to the details in the carpentry. This custom speakeasy bar has some modern elements, including a quad-screen television with a custom wooden frame. The front door is also a custom speakeasy door with a smaller face-window with a metal grill.

The custom millwork and panel fabrication coupled with the studded leather chairs and sofas, dark-finished tables, and decor achieves the true speakeasy ambiance.

Customized Outdoor Space

The outdoor screened in porch is another fun element to this hotel and the bar area. JT Unique installed a beautiful tongue and groove ceiling to compliment the stone and stucco walls. The ceiling to the screened porch is a custom fur oak/hickory wood barrel ceiling we pre-fabricated in the JT Unique shop and then transported to Broken Arrow for installation. This outdoor space's large outdoor fireplace and modern furniture makes it a cozy, warm, relaxing space for guests.
